Product description

Plinia sp, local name Shawi, a very rare fruit native and endemic to Ecuador, is very similar to Cambucá, which is a species native to Brazil, but the fruits of Cambucá are smaller. The edible fruit is collected from the wild and some times sold in local markets. The pulp of Shawi is succulent, sweet, abundant, and of good flavor. The fruit is not very aromatic. The pulp portion closest to the seed is enriched with the goodness of more fiber and nutrients.
