Cherry of the Rio Grande/Eugenia Involucrata is an evergreen shrub native to Brazil. Rio Grande cherries are simple to grow and require only minimal upkeep to produce strong, fruitful plants. These exotic fruit trees, often known as Huge River Cherry, can be cultivated in containers. It may thrive in open tropical and subtropical environments. Cherry of the Rio Grande is a member of the diverse Myrtaceous family, which consists of 144 genera and roughly 5500 species grouped into 10 clades.

Special Feature

Its fruits are a small and delicious cherry-like flavour that ranges in colour from dark red to purple and the skin is thin and conceals meat that is lighter in colour and one to two tiny white seeds. A Cherry of the Rio Grande has a sweet flavour that has been compared to a blend of cherry and plum, with some even claiming it has overtones of banana.

Uses/Benefits

The fruit possesses anti-inflammatory and antioxidant qualities. High concentrations of vitamins A and C, and B-complex vitamins, as well as negligible levels of iron, magnesium, and potassium, can be found in the Eugenia species.
